Concord travels widely in the U.K. each year and has made many trips to take part in events and competitions in Holland, Germany and Ireland. Some of our members have also performed with similar groups in the United States of America. Concord is a 20-year member of Drum Corps United Kingdom.

They have played at many prestigious events and have a Ceremonial Fanfare Team which has also been played at many civic and public events.

The Corps is proud to be representing the United Kingdom and their home city of Sheffield. The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, who is the President of the Corps, has sent a message of greeting to be presented to the Mayor of Valletta celebrating the corps visit to Malta.

The Program

Concord will be performing their 2006 show entitled "In the Key of Cool" and featuring big band swing standards "That Old Black Magic", "Sing, Sing, Sing", “Autumn Leaves" and "The Lady is a Tramp" (plus a few "extras").

We hope that our unique blend of music, energy and choreographed movement will add an element of excitement and youth into the Tattoo.

The Corps

CONCORD DRUM & BUGLE CORPS was formed in 1984 as an independent organisation with its roots in the Air Cadet and Scout movements.

It is a registered educational charity and run entirely by volunteer instructors and supporters. During its 22–year history the corps has remained at the forefront of the drum and bugle corps activity in the U.K. winning 7 national championships and many runners-up placings. The Corps comprises young people aged between 12 and 21 years – the vast majority of whom have never played or performed before joining the corps.

The Instruments

The Corps plays specially-made brass instruments in the key of G and in a range of voices. Our Percussion section comprises snare, bass and multi-tom tenor drums with a further percussion input from our front-line ensemble. Normally the front line ensemble plays a much larger range of orchestral percussion instruments when possible. The music is interpreted and enhanced by our Colour Guard using flags, imitation rifles and choreographed dance movements.
